One of the most neglected and poorly understood medical disorders that exist even today is male impotence. Many people fail to understand that their lack of sexual desire is not because of their psychological feeling of coldness rather it is because of physical conditions that prevail in the body and need immediate medical attention. There are two main factors that have caused such a mismanaged perception of male impotence in our society. The first prominent factor is that people take their sexual thoughts as guilt, taboo, superstition, and often mix it up with myths and overall ignorance. The second major factor contributing in the poorly understood medical disorder of male impotence is abysmal sexual ignorance. This is when people mainly believe that their impotence is because of something psychological. Due to this many people are led to believe that their condition is incurable.

All these wide spread misconceptions are totally wrong. The condition of male impotence is almost always curable no matter how severe the situation is. Most andrologists call this situation erectile dysfunction and have quoted it to be one of the most common disorders to exist among most men. According to a research almost 10 percent of the male population was affected by this problem. Furthermore, among all men above the age of 40 around 52 percent were affected by male impotence. This is a proof of just how prevalent this medical disorder is yet only a few cases appear on the surface.

The condition of erectile dysfunction varies from one person to another. In most cases men lose their ability to get an erection all together and that’s what is called impotence. But sometimes men are able to get an erection but just aren’t able to hold it for long enough or don’t get it hard enough for sexual intercourse. This is when the condition is mostly termed as erectile dysfunction rather than impotence. In the recent years some great deal of new research has been conducted on this medical disorder thus bringing to light some revolutionary new methods for its cure and treatment. despite all these advances even today men find it difficult to beat their egos and come forward to talk about their manhood problems.

The biology behind impotence is that the arteries responsible for the flow of blood in the penis lose their ability to bring in enough blood that helps a man get an erection. There can be a lot of different factors that cause this like diabetes, high blood pressure, injury, or simply narrowing of the arteries due to old age. This is why impotence can also lead to heart problems which are also related to the arteries. This is why it is always emphasized that as soon as you begin to experience any erectile dysfunction problems you should get a thorough checkup from an expert doctor to rule out the possibilities of any other grave disease. This can help you get early treatment for a lot of diseases that if prolonged can get deadly.

Sometimes the reason behind impotence is simply psychological. Some men are unable to deal with their daily stressful lives and end up with cases like impotence. Men usually live a life where their work is really demanding requiring long hours which can lead to anxiety and depression along with poor health since they are confined within a small office all day long and don’t get enough exercise. All these reasons together can contribute in male impotence and therefore it is always advised to start with rectifying your diet and lifestyle before you start taking any other medication or treatment.
